University Representatives
2021/22
University Representatives are Incision's ambassadors at their independent medical schools. They work alongside the national committee in delivering the 3 aims of Incision (Education, Advocacy and Research). Their role primarily consists of updating their university on the activities of Incision UK via mailing lists or social media or other means. They also are invaluable for their role in research studies, the provision of educational resources and continued advocacy of global surgery in various methods.

Anglia Ruskin - Anna Corriero
Anna is a 4th year medical student with interests in surgical education, global surgery and plastics and reconstructive surgery. She looks forward to creating a welcoming atmosphere at incisionUK, putting together a network of like minded, supportive future surgeons!
Aston - Marguerite O'Riodan
I have a keen interest in surgery, particularly orthopaedics. I’m also passionate about encouraging and helping other medical students to influence change, use their voice and make a positive impact; as part of my work for the British Medical Association (BMA) and Universities Allied For Essential Medicines UK
(UAEM).
Birmingham - Simrita Agrawal
I am Simrita Agrawal, final year medical student at the University of Birmingham. Being passionate about surgery, specialties such as Colorectal and Upper GI piqued my interests. I have been involved in various publications and presented at national and international conferences. My interests revolve around global surgery and maternal health.
Brighton and Sussex - Maddie Ashley
Hello! My name is Maddie and I am in my third year at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. My interests related to surgery include general and obstetrics and gynaecological surgery, the promotion of women in surgery and eliminating the gender bias and global surgery advocacy and education!
Bristol - Lelyn Osei Atiemo
I’m a 5th year student at the University of Bristol. I’m currently interested in pursuing a career in vascular surgery.I also have a particular interest in medical education and widening participation. I look forward to collaborating on exciting projects with InciSioN.
Cambridge - Aiman Aslam
I’m a final year medical student at Cambridge University with a keen interest in reconstructive surgery because of the life-changing impact it can have on directly improving the physical and psychosocial outcomes of an extremely varied patient caseload! I am also passionate about the utility of collaboration and cultural awareness in improving access to safe reconstructive surgery globally.
Cardiff - Jack Wellington
Year 4 Medical Student at Cardiff University Medical School, eager to pursue a career in Neurosurgery alongside attaining a DTM&H for clinical practice globally, achieve a PhD in Surgical Sciences (specialising in Neuroinfectious Diseases), a WHO Internship in Geneva, and an academic foundation post (conducting research in neurosurgical practice). I intercalated at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine for a MSc Medical Microbiology and aspire to undertake a neurosurgery elective at the University of Oxford.

Hull/York - Tina Limbu
Hey everyone Tina Limbu here. I am a 2nd year medical student, studying at Hull York Medical School. I have a keen interest in general and neurosurgery but still exploring my options, but I know for sure that I want to be in the surgical field. I am especially passionate about the issues related to barriers to accessing surgery in developing nations and hoping to contribute towards resolving these obstacles.
Imperial - Qi Zhi Clayton Yang
I’m a 5th year medical student at Imperial College London and I have been passionate about about surgery since starting medical school. I am especially interested in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery and am very keen in exploring and contributing to the advancements in global surgery.
Keele - Catriona Turnbull
I am a final year medical student at Keele University and have recently completed my intercalated Master’s in Surgery. I have a passion for Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, particularly Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery, and find the visual nature of the specialty and fine dexterous work very appealing. In my free time I love to draw, play the piano, and spend time in the countryside.
Kings - Bella Milan-Chhatrisha
I am a medical student at King’s College London, currently intercalating at Imperial in Surgical Design, Technology and Innovation. I am interested in plastic and reconstructive surgery, and the way that global surgical innovation – particularly within the technological field – is refashioning both training in surgery and provision of surgical care across the globe, such that it is as uniformly enhanced and equitable across international health systems as possible.
Lancaster - Joseph Nicholson
Hi, I am Joe, the rep for Lancaster Medical School. I am in my third year of Medicine and have previously studied a BSc in Biology. My interest in surgery is mostly from the perspectives of trauma. Orthopaedics, Vascular and Plastics are all areas that I think would be extremely rewarding to work in. Learning how these disciplines in particular can be made more accessible on a global scale is one of the many things I hope to gain in this role with INCISION UK.
Leeds - Samra Abbass
Hi! My name is Samra and I am the IncisionUK Rep at Leeds. I have a keen interest in the ever-expanding influence of augmented and virtual reality in the global surgical field. Furthermore, I have a passion for increasing accessibility to surgery for health care professionals from underrepresented groups.
Leicester - Christie
Christie is a final year medical student at the University of Leicester. She is passionate about global health, with an iBSc in International Health and in her second year as president of Students for Global Health: Leicester. In the future, she would love to help develop surgical capacity in LMICs.
Liverpool - Kartik Goyal
Hi, my name is Kartik Goyal and currently I am studying in Year 4 at Liverpool. I have thoroughly enjoyed my surgical placements in the past 2 years and am hoping on pursuing this in the future. I am particularly interested in neurosurgery and colorecta surgery. I hope to be an asset to this organization.
Manchester - Kimberly Lim Xinyi
I am interested in O&G which is a specialty that involves medicine and surgery. On top of that, I truly enjoyed my placement during breast surgery at North Manchester General Hospital. There is a wide range of opportunities in surgery including using different surgical equipment and techniques. Besides, surgery is one of the most demanding specialties and it requires good manual dexterity which is why you will never get bored in theatre!
Newcastle - Balraj Singh Maan
Hey! My name is Raj, I’m a current third year at Newcastle University and I’m still working out which specialty I’m currently headed towards! I’m keen on surgical research and innovation in simulation and training (VR/AR), and the applications of AI in surgery. I look forward to joining the community!
Nottingham - Mahnoor Javed
I am a third year medical student at Nottingham. I am interested in all sorts of surgery, especially neurosurgery. I hope to provide more opportunities for medical students to get involved in research involving surgery and to advocate for BAME issues involved in surgery.
Oxford - Isaac Jarratt Barnham
Before coming to Medicine I studied Philosophy and Psychology, and then worked for a few years in Psychiatric research. Now, as a graduate medic, I’m interested in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, particularly in exploring how surgical innovation and systems strengthening can improve care in under-served areas of the world.
