
Who are we?
InciSioN UK is a student and junior doctor-led group that is working to promote access to safe surgery, for all. We currently have a committee of 15 medical students from across the UK. We work with national and international partners to promote global surgery, around three key areas of work: research, education and advocacy. ​

Committee 2025/2026

Chair
Georgios
Georgios completed his primary medical education in Greece before moving to the UK for his foundation training.
​
Currently he is a Clinical Research Fellow at Imperial College London and a General Surgery Registrar in South London. He is also pursuing an MSc in Trauma Sciences and has been accepted into a PhD program at Imperial College, which commenced in August.
​
He is a committee member in various surgical and research associations such as STEER, Roux Group, ASiT, HFSN and MedTech Foundation.

Vice-Chair
Ben
Ben is this year's Vice-Chair for InciSioN UK. He is currently an intercalating medical student at King's College London, with a passion for global health, surgical research and healthcare economics.

He hopes to broaden Incision's research horizons, continue to push for meaningful change both nationally and globally, as well as promote an environment of education and advocacy for our members and committee.
​
He is extremely grateful for this opportunity and can not wait for the future of InciSioN UK!

Secretary
Omar
Omar is a Core surgical trainee in the Yorkshire deanery with a keen interest in trauma and orthopaedic surgery.
​
He hopes to build on the amazing work of Incision UK by supporting training as well as facilitating research and education.

Junior Doctor Network Lead
Mehmet
Mehmet is an academic FY2 doctor working in Norwich. He is keen to pursue a career in ENT or plastic surgery, whilst maintaining advocacy for global surgery alongside his job.
He aims to provide seamless communication between the committee and the regional junior doctor leads, fostering a collaborative environment and supporting leads to host local events to promote global surgery.

Medical Student Network Lead
Joshua
Josh is a 2nd-year medical student at King’s College London with an interest in general surgery and gastroenterology.

As the medical student network lead, he aims to expand the mentorship programme and broaden global surgery initiatives in medical schools across the UK.

Research Lead
I-Han
I-Han is a medical doctor from Taiwan with a strong interest in orthopaedics and mucosceletal science. She has experience in clinical research and big data analysis, with two original research articles published, as well as several review papers and letters.

She is passionateabout using data to inform evidence-based pratice and is excited to contribute to InciSioN UK's mission through collaborative research and innovation.

Education Lead
Jefferson
Jefferson George in a core surgical trainee in East Midlands with a keen interest in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery.

As Education Lead, he aims to advance awareness of global surgery and promote equitable surgical care through collaboration, education and leadership.

Treasurer
Evie
Evie is currently a foundation Year 1 doctor in the East of England, with a goal of pursuing a surgical career.
​
As treasurer of Incision UK, she aims to ensure effective financial management and she is looking forward to actively supporting the society's mission to inspire and empower future surgeons.

Webmaster
Anastasia
Anastasia Tzatzidou is a Core Surgical Trainee in the West Midlands. She graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and completed her Foundation Training in the North East of England.

Anastasia is passionate about surgical education, innovation, and improving the training experience for future surgeons. She is a strong advocate for widening access to surgical careers and promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the field. Her interests also extend to global surgery, with a commitment to supporting equitable access to surgical care and training across international settings.

Social Media Lead
Sakshi
Sakshi is a secon-year medical student at the University of Liverpool and Social Media Lead for Incision.

She aims to enhance engagement and awareness of global healthcare equality through digital outreach.

Advocacy Lead
Amelia
Amelia is currently a 4th year medical student. She completed an intercalation in Global Health last year in which she learnt a lot about Global Surgery.
She is really excited to be involved with InciSioN UK this year as Advocacy Lead!

Events and Workshop Lead
Celestia
Celestia is a trust grade doctor at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and is the Events and Workshop Lead for this year.
​
She is pasionate about cardiothoracic surgery and global health, with a background in working at charity hospitals in India.
​
Celestia is committed to creating enganging events, including the development of low-cost, efficient alternatives that could aid in global surgery settings. She is dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the field of healthcare, particularly in resource-limited envornments.

Design Lead
Alicia
Alicia is a first-year medical student at the University of Glasgow, with a passion in surgery, research, public and global health.
​
As design lead, she is excited to explore the potential for design to connect, influence, educate and advocate by focusing on the message and story behind each design.

Past Chair
Fay
Fay is a final year medical student with a keen interest in global surgery and plastics and reconstructive surgery.
This is her third year with InciSioN UK, and this year as former chair, she will be focusing on supporting and guiding the current committee towards building on previous initiatives whilst ensuring a smooth transition of leadership. ​

She is also currently Vice President of National Working Groups at InciSioN Global.
